For reports, lists, details sheets, and receipts, most printers are suitable with the following exceptions:
•The HP P1005, P1006, and P1500 series have a driver problem that causes them to print our barcodes in the wrong location.
•The HP D4160 is not supported because of driver incompatibilities.
•Printers intended primarily for printing photos are generally not suitable.
•Printers with Postscript drivers have been found to perform poorly, especially when printing receipts and repair envelopes. Printers with PCL drivers are preferred.
Before the printer can be set up to use with The Edge, it must be installed and functioning in Windows. See your printer documentation or contact your printer vendor for assistance with this.

If you obtain pre-printed forms on your own, you must do a test proof with The Edge and send it to us to be verified. This will ensure your pre-printed forms will fit our receipt layout. It may help to work with an Edge-approved vendor who will guarantee compatibility. |
Once installed in Windows, the printer(s) can be setup in The Edge:
1. Select File ► Printer Setup.
2. Choose whether to specify the Receipt, List, or Report printer.

Used to print all point of sale transactions including sales receipts, service job envelopes, and appraisals. |

Used to print lists, such as the list of items returned by an item search or the list of customers returned by a customer find. |

Report |
Used to print reports, found exclusively under the Reports tab. |
3. Specify all options and select OK to save your setup.
4. Repeat this for each printer type you will be using.
