Yes, and we encourage it. If you are comfortable installing any software updates on your own, then you should proceed. We will assist you if you run into problems.
Can I Schedule an Appointment with Support to Perform the Update for Me?
Yes. Because updates may require fixes in the immediate days following the release, we prefer to wait until the version has been installed on many stores and is running in a very stable manner.
How Often Should I Update?
Some stores wish to remain current with everything that is released. Some prefer to wait for a critical feature or fix. Our recommendation is that you should not fall more than a calendar year behind in updates. We encourage reading all release notes to be aware of what is new whether you update at that time or not.
If I Skip an Update, Do I Need to Install All Past Updates in Order?
Not usually. When you install the latest update, you automatically install all subsequent features and fixes. The Edge will notify you if special upgrade steps are necessary; this is only an issue if major updates were missed.
